appv5-01It has been a while since I wrote about my top 10 new features of ConfigMgr 2012 Service Pack 1. Have been busy with setting up our new User Group (WMUG NL), preparing presentations, writing other blogs and contributing to the upcoming book of Kent Agerlund (System Center 2012 SP1 Configuration Manager: Mastering the Fundamentals). Busy times between working and all other hobbies ;) Let’s finish this blog series with my number 10 in the list of new features, the support of App-V 5.0. sccm2012-logoIn my series about my favorite new or renewed features in Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 I would like to dedicate this blog to the Apple Mac OS X support. A little bit more than a month ago Citrix released the Citrix XenApp connector for Configuration Manager 2012. Before I was able to have a look at the connector, I had to configure a Citrix XenApp 6.5 server in my lab environment. When you make a change to an application that is not good you are able to revert to an earlier revision. When playing around with Configuration Manager 2012 I wanted to delete my first application ;)

During this high level meeting about the new Application Model in Configuration Manager 2012 an earlier session was repeated. In this blog I will be a summary about this session and most of the information can also be found in the slide deck of the session.
Nevertheless, Microsoft invested big time to create a new application model where the user can be the center of the deployment / management of the applications. In my opinion, this worked out well and Configuration Manager is going to be a mature configuration management platform.
Last but not least, I won the monthly price of the Community Evaluation Program, thanks guys!
