A while ago a wrote an article for the November issue of the Windows IT-Pro Magazine about migrating ConfigMgr 2007 to ConfigMgr 2012 in ten steps. The article gives you a highlevel overview about the migration process that comes with the migration from ConfigMgr 2007 to ConfigMgr 2012. This week the release candidate 2 version of the Configuration Manager Physical to Virtual (P2V) Migration Toolkit was released. The Configuration Manager P2V Migration Toolkit enables you to migrate your branch office site servers side by side without investing in new hardware.

Today another CEP session was held by Rob Vogt and Ben Shy about the System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Package Conversion Manager and the Physical 2 Virtual Migration Toolkit . Let’s see what is changed since the last session about PCM and P2V Migration Toolkit was held.

A couple of days ago the Configuration Manager Physical to Virtual Migration Toolkit release candidate was released. The Configuration Manager P2V Migration Toolkit is especially designed for Configuration Manager 2007 environments where there are branch offices with Configuration Manager site server hardware that needs to be reused while migrating to Configuration Manager 2012.

Today an interesting Community Evaluation Program session held by Chris Adams, Group Program Manager of the Configuration Manager 2012 team, about the package Conversion and Physical to Virtual Migration Toolkit for Configuration Manager 2012. First news was the fact that “CM CEP leader” Jeff Wettlaufer is leaving Microsoft to join RES Software. Good luck Jeff, we will see you arround at RES!
